Chalk Dust Torture

As Trey said himself in 2015, this was the peak of all jams ever played. They reached perfection during this tune.

My favorite version. Straight up heater. Trey is so excited to hit that chainsaw riff after each verse that he can't finish the lyrics. This happens from time to time and is usually a sure fire sign of a great version. Wipeout and mirror in the bathroom teases. Never gets old.

Jam that mutates and keeps you on your toes. Gets serene, twisted, covers a lot of ground.

The OG Dick's Dust. such a phenomenal show, all around and this is my favourite part of it. A little after 11 minutes Trey unlocks a portal to pure and total bliss. There's a bum note, somewhere, in there, just to let you know how exactly perfect every other note he plays is. And Mike is framing +

About 16 minutes in a guy from across the aisle whom I'd seen at every Denver show I've ever been to comes over looks at me and says "Is this still Chalkdust???" Enough said.

A great way to end one of the greatest sets in Phish history. A straightforward type 1 CDT, but up there with the best peaks of all time. Definitely worth a listen.

Great 91 version. Trey reaches a ripping but straightforward peak in the solo.

Very good version, still pulling out an exploratory CDT at the "last" show.

Huge version to kick off the show. Deep improv that displays that they were still exploring.

Major exploration in this one, surprised to see it not listed. I consider this to have set the tone for 2.0.
